The Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHRSS) was launched in March 2016 and registration is
now open to members of the public. A series of promotion activities have been rolled out to encourage
participation to the system.

The eHRSS has commenced operation and the public is welcome to register to the eHRSS. Registration
is voluntary and free-of-charge. |
|
Officiating at the launching ceremony on 7 March 2016, the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko
Wing-man, said through developing a territory-wide patient-oriented system operated with patients’ consent, the eHRSS will greatly facilitate continuity of care, and allow better integration of different healthcare services to bring about benefits for individual patients. |

“The participation of the private sector and support of patients are equally important to the successful
implementation of two-way sharing of electronic health records between public and private healthcare
providers,” he said. |

The Hospital Authority (HA) Convention 2016
(3-4 May 2016)
An exhibition booth was set up with display panels
and promotional videos disseminating information
about the key concepts of the eHRSS, its use and
benefits. More than 750 participants registered as
healthcare recipients (HCRs) at the booth.

eHRSS and to carry out HCR registration for

A promotional booth was set up to introduce the eHRSS and encourage local dentists’
adoption of the Dental Clinical Management System (DCMS) 2.0 through publicity video
broadcast, display of promotional banners and DCMS 2.0 system demonstration. |

eHRSS APIs and Videos
Two announcements in the public interests (APIs),
entitling “Electronic Health Record Sharing System
– Newborn” and “Electronic Health Record Sharing
System – Elderly” were released. Promotional
videos were also produced to promote the eHRSS.
They have been broadcast on TV, radio and the
eHRSS website since mid-March 2016.

Registration Campaigns
eHRSS Onsite Registration Campaign at HA and
DH Clinics
The Onsite Registration Campaign at clinics of the
HA and the Department of Health (DH) was rolled
out in end-March 2016 and will run until early-2017.
Patients, relatives and members of the public can
register to the eHRSS at booths set up in the 48
selected clinics during specified periods. Registration at each of the clinics
lasts from one to three months and mobile teams
are on the spot to provide assistance to applicants.

eHRSS Onsite Installation and Registration
Campaign at Elderly Homes
From end-May 2016 to the end of the year,
residents, visitors and staff members of elderly
centres can register to the eHRSS during the
Onsite Installation and Registration Campaign.
The campaign will cover 100 elderly homes in
Hong Kong, in which the eHR system will be
installed and eHRSS registration performed.

|
Registration campaign for participants of the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association (SCHSA) is a
collaborative effort with the aim to facilitate Public-Private Interface - Electronic Patient Record Sharing
Pilot Project (PPI-ePR) participants of SCHSA register to the eHRSS. The campaign is scheduled to start in
the third quarter of 2016. |
